What an amazing week! On Monday the first graders celebrated the birthday of the church through Pentecost. They made windsocks to represent the Holy Spirit with the 7 gifts. On Wednesday, Habitat Day was a huge success. I was so impressed by everyone’s projects. Thank you for your time and help creating, researching, and transporting projects. If you didn’t have a chance to stop by, we will be sending home pictures of your children with their habitats soon. You may have noticed a giant book of habitats. This is the work your children have completed over the last 4 months. I will send home the art projects that go with them soon.

Field Trip on Tuesday

Tuesday, May 29th first grade is headed to the Woodland Park Zoo. We will eat lunch there. Please send a disposable sack lunch with your child. Please also pack a separate snack for your child to eat when we return to school. Students need to wear a uniform top with the St. John logo (red shirt or navy sweatshirt) and good walking shoes. Please drop off booster seats (if your child requires one) to the hallway outside of XDC in the morning. Signs for “Feeney” and “Peoples” will be posted. Make sure your booster is labeled with your name!

Homework Note: This is the last week of homework for first grade! Thank you for all your support this year. June 1, I will send home a summer packet and your child’s summer contract with ideas for things you can work on over the summer.   J
