I know and use various text features (e.g., headings, tables of contents, glossaries, electronic menus, icons) to locate key facts or information in a text. I will complete this standard by watching Mrs. Costa’s nonfiction features video and finding these features when I read nonfiction books during Daily 5.

Today you can choose the book you want to read. Today’s focus lesson for Read to self is nonfiction features. We will learn how headings and diagrams help us as readers. See teaching video below.
