First Grade Dolphin News

The first graders had an awesome week in science learning about Temperate Forests and Rain Forests.  They also enjoyed participating in a STEM project on Thursday with their 8th Grade buddies, the goal was to create the tallest free-standing object with straws, tape, paper clips, and index cards.  The highest the students built was over 100 cm!   Students also enjoyed publishing and illustrating their Vacation Narrative to completion this week!

The St. John School Auction is next Friday, April 5!  Here are a few items to check out…

 Mrs. Jessup’s 1st Grade

Item 906

“Birds taking Flight”

Close-knit, social, colorful and fun-loving birds perch upon hand-painted branches.  Each child painted a unique little birdy, three of which are taking flight.  This piece illustrates a beautiful truth in parenting: “We give our children roots & wings”.  A picture of the work is on the back with the name of the artist of each bird.Value:  Roots and Wings

Please ignore the brightness of the painting.  It is due to my bad skills at picture taking!
