Happy first week of spring (even though the weather is not showing it)! The first graders are learning with so much excitement. We continued our study of Rain Forests and compared them with Temperate Forests using a Venn Diagram. We made sloths and monkeys as well as learned the levels in the rainforests. In math we began a unit on geometry. This week we continued our journey to Jesus as we change our hearts for Lent. Next week we will celebrate the holiest week of the Church year! We want your family to experience this week so the homework will be focused on Religion. You can keep the purple Holy Week packet at home over Easter break to read through (there is something for Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday).
We appreciate all the donations received for our Lenten Service Project- Homeless Care Bags. We plan to assemble the bags next week with our 8th grade buddies.
Rice Bowl: This week we focused on families from Malawi. CRS helped them with farming through seed fairs. Check out the story here: https://www.crsricebowl.org/stories-of-hope/week-5
Next Friday, March 30 the school will dismiss in silence (on playground, by flagpole). We would appreciate if families continue to be silent until you are off campus. We end in silence to remember the hour Jesus died on Good Friday. Thank you!
