Happy St. Patrick’s Day! This week students continued learning about the Stations of the Cross where they walk with Jesus each Friday. They finished their study on temperate forests by creating coniferous trees art. Then they began their new unit on rainforest habitats where they took a “virtual field trip.” They finished subtracting tens from double digits and created 3D rainbows by measuring different strips with rulers. We have had a great start to our 3rd Trimester.
Report Cards: Report cards are coming home today- Thursday, March 15th. Please take a moment to review your child’s report card. Remember that these are goals for the end of year. If they are progressing, it means they are on their way to meeting the standard or benchmark. If your child is meeting a standard you can continue practicing that skill. SLE self-assessments will also be included. I have marked in blue marker my assessment for their SLE’s. Please sign and return the YELLOW COPY of the report card and ENVELOPE. 1st/8th Grade Service Project: Homeless Care Bags

This week we heard of a story of hope from Haiti. Below is the link to the story; the page also has a simple recipe from Haiti that your family is encouraged to try- Vegetable Stew.
Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day (March 22): Remember if your child does not have a family member or friend coming, please email me and I will place him/her with a friend. Your grandparent or special friend should come to the classroom to pick your child up and walk together to Egan Hall. Lunch begins at 11:00. Students should provide a sack lunch for themselves and their guests. I will be there to bring your children back to the classroom when lunch and the performance are over. They will need to find me in Egan Hall at the end!
