It was an exciting, productive week in first grade. Students celebrated the 100th day of school with games and 100 themed activities including writing what they would do at 100 years old. Did you check out their 100 year old photos taken using an aging app? Our eighth grade buddies visited and in 20 minutes they read close to 100 books. By the end of the day we had read 290! The first graders celebrated St. Valentine’s Day on Tuesday where they passed out cards, counted and sorted sweethearts, and had a party. Wednesday was Ash Wednesday where we gathered together at Mass to begin the Lenten season. Today we came up with 10 promises to change our heart for Jesus. Some examples included pray more, go to Mass, read Bible stories, collect money for the Rice Bowl, and be kind to others at recess.
Field Trip Note: Please be sure to return permission slips as soon as possible. I am still missing many forms! Make sure to complete both sides of the form. If you send a check, please put your child’s name in the memo line. If you send cash for payment, please send it in a clearly labeled envelope with your child’s name. Thank you!
Thank you to the following parents who volunteered to drive: Mrs. Aguila, Mrs. McCormick, Mrs. Feeman, Mrs. Dacquisto, Mr. Turner, and Mrs. Kane. I need a few more parents to help out! This is a cool field trip and it is easier if I can have 2 parents per group.
