First Grade Dolphin News
This week was short, sweet, and busy! The first graders enjoyed celebrating St. Valentine’s Day with pajamas, heart artwork, and exchanging cards. They continued to learn different subtraction strategies like doubles and make 10 to subtract. They experimented with flashlights to find out what objects are opaque, translucent, or transparent. Then they experimented with reflections using light beams (flashlight) and objects. The first graders learned about Mary’s appearance in Lourdes, France. She appeared to St. Bernadette (our saint of the month).
Homework Note: There is a homework packet for an exciting project to conclude our Sound and Light unit. There is no spelling due to the short week. Remember to bring your 100_word poster on Wednesday, February 19.
