First Grade Dolphin News (The Last Edition!)

Happy Summer Break! The first graders enjoyed their last few days of school. They enjoyed their buddy lunch on Tuesday as well as performing a dance for their 8th grade buddies during their Farewell Assembly. On Wednesday they visited 2nd grade during Bump Up day to ask questions in preparation for 2nd grade. Thursday students participated in Under The Sea Day. The rotated through 7 different stations such as: sand art, pass the bucket, and Lei making. A huge THANK YOU to the volunteers who helped run a station: Denise, Kinsey, Susan, Temry, and Lisa. We couldn’t have done it without you! Today we ended our special week with a wonderful Mass where we learned how much God loves us. Please check your child’s folder (bag) for his/her report card, STAR report, MAP test results, SLE rubric, and Summer contract.

I want to give a special thank you to my parent volunteers this year. Thank you to Kinsey McCormick for being a wonderful room parent and helping organize the volunteer sign ups. Thank you to Tricia Kane-Yi for organizing the auction project and taking care of the Scholastic book orders each month. Thank you to Lisa Longton for helping out in the library. Thank you art parents for inventive, creative art projects this year. Thank you parents who signed up to help during Daily 5, sight words, and math facts. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the field trips, helping with special events like Christmas Around the World and special parties. Last, but not least, thank you to all the parents who helped their children this year by preparing them for each day, reading with them, helping with homework, and supporting them this year. I appreciate it!  Check your child’s bag for a special Thank you card!

Thank you for a wonderful year in first grade! Miss Brito and I appreciate all your support this year. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for trusting us with your child. You and your child can come by and visit next year. Have a wonderful summer and don’t forget to have your child pray, read, and play everyday!
